2013 HIGHLIGHTS:
Site Visits:
MGM Grand Hotel & Casino
MGM Grand just completed a $160 million room and suite remodel in the hotel’s main tower. Designed by the MGM Resort International Design team, the guestrooms showcase a modern sensibility with vibrant colors.—either a tangerine and bronze palette or a fuchsia, platinum, and charcoal scheme—found on plush fabrics, artwork, and playful carpet patterns.
The Palms Casino Resort
A $50 million lavish property-wide overhaul encompasses a redesign of the Ivory Tower guestrooms, new culinary options, re-imagined gaming, and new nightlife options. Designed by Klai Juba Architects, the 428 Ivory Tower rooms are sensual and sophisticated. For SOCIAL, the hotel’s new center bar and lounge, Rockwell Group created a see-and-be-seen space with its elevated bar area offering guests a 360-degree view of the gaming floor.
Nobu Hotel Caesars Palace
Get an insider’s look, with the Rockwell Group team, of the world’s first Nobu Hotel. Centrally located within Caesars Palace, it will not only bring a new luxury hotel-within-a-hotel (the first chef-branded hotel in Las Vegas), but it will also boast the largest Nobu restaurant to date—measuring in at more than 11,200 square feet.
Radical Innovation in Hospitality Design
Created by Hospitality Design magazine and the John Hardy Group, and sponsored by Global Allies, this contest searches for the next big idea in hospitality design. Three finalists will present their projects to John Hardy, Claude Amar, Michael Medzigian, Jena Thornton, Simon Turner, James Woods, and Wing Chao. Live voting and winners announced at the end of the session. Over $16,000 to be awarded and three amazing concepts to be discovered.
