Hospitality Design magazine Green Luncheon

In case study format, learn the design program and details behind the winners of the inaugural HD/ASID Inaugural Earth-Minded Hospitality Design Project and Product Design Competition. Co-produced by Hospitality Design magazine and the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), the competition winners represent significant achievement in sustainable design for hospitality as selected by an independent jury. Additionally, NEWH, Inc. Sustainable Hospitality presents its annual scholarships, which recognize exceptional creativity in sustainable design by a student, with a matching grant for the student's university.

Established in 1987, the Platinum Circle is a career accolade honoring achievement within the hospitality design industry.

The Platinum Circle Awards Gala is a prestigious, creative back tie affair where you'll enjoy the camaraderie with colleagues as you celebrate our industry's most brilliant minds.

The 2008 Platinum Circle honorees are:

Turner Duncan and Kimberly Miller of Duncan & Miller Design, Dallas and Shanghai. For more than 20 years, Duncan & Miller have specialized in hotels, resorts, restaurants, and historic renovations for Hilton, Marriott, Mandarin, Sofitel and Renaissance, in US and Asia.

Chandu Chhada, principal of Chhada Siembieda & Associates, Ltd., Hong Kong, has been creating luxury properties for nearly 30 years, working with Aman Resorts, Conrad International, Four Seasons, Hilton International, Hyatt International, Mandarin Oriental, Oberoi, and Regent International, among others.

Tom LaTour, currently of LaTour Signature Group, spent more than 20 years with Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants, first as an executive hired by Bill Kimpton, then as CEO and Chairman after Kimpton's death. During his tenure at Kimpton, the company was an early leader in the rise of boutique hotels and their significant impact on hotel design.

In addition to the honorees, the Manfred Steinfield Award for Humanitarianism will be given to Mark Norcross President of Mark David. This award is presented to remarkable individuals whose measure of success extends beyond creative achievement to corporate responsibility, community outreach and philanthropy.

Tickets include full open bar and hors d'oeuvres reception accompanied by the Platinum Circle Award Presentation hosted by Michael Adams, Editor-in-Chief of Hospitality Design magazine.
